And Tada! a cold frame.
We have planted a melon in there. Not sure how it will pan out, as we are new to both cold frames and growing melons..
Still nothing ventured an all that. Reckon it cost about 50p, for the screws.

Brilliant ..well done. Melons are easy by the way -you’ll have no problems.
lovely….fixings and all!
Brilliant! Good luck with the melons.
Nice! I’ve got a couple of windows that I’ve been meaning to turn into a cold frame for ages – if it looks half as nice as yours, I’ll be well happy 🙂
Excellent – I’ve never really succeeded with melons. Good luck with yours!
Simon’s just reminded me to say that he is going on a course soon to make houses out of old pallets. (and I’m thinking of various new chicken/duck houses we need that I’m sure could be made in the same way!)
funny you should say that… two of our smaller hen houses started life as pallets. and there is the strawberry planter.. then sheep feed trough, the little bridge over the ditch, the new door to the turkey house, the walls of one of our sheep field shelters… pallets. you have to love em 😀
That looks scarily professional 😀
a little wonky in places.. don’t spose the melon will mind 🙂
OMG I love this, just googled this and found your project, so glad, its bloody brilliant! Looking forward to trying my own hand at this. Love your blog =)
