Today, we said, after two days of storms, would be dedicated to getting the very last of the plants in. The late squashes and pumpkins etc. And to propping up the broad beans, that were flattened in the strong winds, to putting the wigwams of beans back up etc.
By lunch time, idling over our soup,saying how we were making good progress, when I remarked we should have gone to the beach, post storms, to look for driftwood.
The day took a sudden turn, and it is strange how fast you can plant and get your must do list done, if you have a reason to set a deadline.
And we found lots of lovely bits of weathered drift wood, and I just loved the pattern on the stones, and pocketed some shells, and all in all a good work morning and trip out afternoon/ evening.
