It’s all very well, hoping to harvest your vegetables for the year, and raise lamb, mutton, pork and chicken to feed your family, and make cakes and soups and store them, and put aside eggs when there is a glut.. etc etc. but there has to be enough freezer space to accomodate this.
We have two and a half freezers already (half being part of a fridge freezer), but we need a bit more so we need to sort out one of the sheds, to house them… but as always this causes a cascade of jobs to be done,, as the shed is in use storing veg and homebrew.. so it we move that.. then something else has to be changed.. and so on…
we need to:
- move stored food out
- move furniture that seems to have accumlated there
- take out fridge innards (used to be an old dairy fridge)
- re establish electric
- put up guttering
- set up water butt
- buy freezers
- clear space in meal shed
- move workbench to mealshed
- make shelves in tool shed
- move tools to tool shed
- clear out middle shed
- build new doors on middle shed shed
- move son’s stuff to middle shed
how long could that take
