After our trip to the library, we went for a walk by the river, and a picnic lunch. Really beautiful at the moment, and this time of year brings a clarity to the light.

Spotted the first frogspawn today. Been checking the pond every day as I go past, and there it is today, so that’s 8 days earlier than last year. I guess there will be a bit of fluctuation, but it will be interesting to see if this earlier trend keeps happening. According to the woodland trust, [...]

Whilst there was still a door frame, we were still using that, but now the frame and original (or what’s left of it beam) is [...]

We found out Saturday night that we can have the services of a brickie to come and put up our new wall on Tuesday.. which is excellent news as we thought the acroprop look would be with us for some months yet. Bad news was that old wall was still there.. so today himself went [...]
amaryllis

on a more cheerful note… this afternoon my son and I planted his amaryllis bulb kit that he got for Christmas. These are great for kids, easy instructions, nice and manageable and dramatic results: fast noticeable growth and huge flowers.
The year before last we made it into a sort of mathsy/science thing, with measuring the [...]
