Can it be August? Shouldn’t we be knee deep in beans, tomatoes and courgettes now? We should be, but are not. We are getting some to eat, but no glut, the tomatoes are only just beginning to come in, hopefully a large crop will be with us later, the courgettes are being demolished by slugs as they appear – we are going to step up the battle and get more of them for ourselves!, and the beans are feeding us, but no more.
And today we picked the first blackberries. Just the first few who timed it wrong and though Autumn had already arrived. Can’t blame them with the recent weather. But the sun is back and it is August again,
