Slightly aghast at how slowly we are getting through our stores. Well this is a good thing really, but we need to eat some things up = particularly freezer space, in readiness for the harvest.. which is beginning to trickle in.
Sooooo did our duty and ate as much jam as we could for lunch with a cream tea.
Martyrdom itself.
We did make up for it with lots of wood cutting, and the last of the planting, etc.
And had roast leg of lamb with calabrese, runner beans and sprouts (more freezer space), new potatoes, mange tout and mint sauce (freshly harvested). followed by wild strawberry creme brulee (uses up eggs and some of last years wild strawberries).
pure.. delicious.. tasty martyrdom…
