I was seeing the nurse at the health centre today, and she went through the usual rounds of questions.. any family history… how many units of alcohol… take your BP.. etc.
and she asked me if I exercise. Well, I know, as I certainly could be fitter and thinner, that I don’t get enough. In fact I don’t actually ‘exercise’ per se. I dont go to the gym, or power walk around the village, I don’t go to classes etc. But then.. just looking at today.. I walked to the health centre of course.. and briskly as the appointment was in the middle of home ed time. I walked down to see the sheep and chickens three times. And I walked right to the bottom of the little field where there are still some branches laying from our hedge cutting. They were too big to drag as they were, so I sawed them with the bow saw, then heaved a big trunk up hill to the wood cutting area – cardiovascular exercise believe me!. Then returned to bring another.
I sowed some chitted parsnips, and then cut some wood into woodburner size, and stacked it.
No, I don’t get enough exercise.. but I do get some, as it turns out.
