I take it back. I had written that I was not convinced it was worth growing baby sweetcorn, as big corn on the cob would give you more food per veg patch. However, we are picking so much now, each plant has at least three cobs, and more seems to be coming. The corn is so tasty and sweet, and we all love it. My son prefers it to managing corn on the cob, which means we can have that and he can have the baby kind. We have fifty plants. The packet said 25, and I sowed the lot, and there was a lot more in it!, the plants are really sturdy compared to the other varieties. The freezer is filling, which is unfortunate as I have established today that we don’t have enough space to fit the lamb in when it comes back from the butcher.. and less each day as I stuff it full of baby corn. Going to have to beg freezer space from family…
a good problem to have.
