yesterday evening, the sun popped out and was surprisingly warm.. as though it was July or something.Today though, the weather forecasters were right with their 100% chance of rain prediction. It has rained hard, all day. Must sort out a rainwater toilet flush system…
We still indulged in more belligerent gardening, well harvesting anyway, and dug potatoes, picked blackcurrants, courgettes, peas, mange tout and calabrese. Didn’t any eggs though.. not sure how much is down to rats thieving, and how much is down to them not laying.
Ebby had a good day. He caught two junior rats, brought them back (dead thankfully) and showed off. Then he settled down damply on the only load of washing I have managed to dry in days. Still I forgive him, if he is going to keep the rat population down.
We are due the rain tomorrow by the look of the weather forecast
Our chooks have taken to wearing flippers.
Yesterday I went and collected 14 bags of wood chip to put in their pen to help keep them from getting trench foot. They thought it was brilliant as the wood chip was partially composted and full of worms and wood lice – chookie-heaven
dry feet *and* bugs to eat… spoiling em!
