It’s been raining heavily all afternoon, so aside from regular trips to the hen run to try to collect the eggs before the rats do, I have been indoors, and have done a load of cooking for the weekend.

some jam tarts (well you know how it is… left over pastry…)

a pot of chili to stick in the freezer:

and some oaty biscuits:

tired now..
Fancy having visitors? It all looks very good. We’ve had a rare day of sunshine here so I spent most the day hoeing the potato field. Hard work, but very satisfying.
It all looks delicious, I’m not surprised you’re tired. Thanks for sharing the pumpkin scones recipe. We don’t grow pumpkins, I wonder if it would work with courgettes.
thanks Stoney
Susi – I’m not sure if it would work with courgettes.. there is a sweet pumpkin taste
a good recipe to use a glut of courgettes is the chocolate courgette cake from Riverford.

I could quite easily munch one of those jam tarts right now. I bet they beat Mr Kiplings hands down
must admit.. not as neat as Mr Ks, sticky and wholemeal pastry all crumbs… but our own strawberry jam… yes… I do think they were better!
