sweep

Well, the builders have done fixing the gutters.. just need some rain now to see if they actually work…
and the chimney sweep has come, observed that we are clearly burning a fair bit of pallet and scrap wood, along with logs, and declared we should carry on doing what we are doing as we have the right kind of soot… ok I know it sounds strange.. but this is why I pay the not very large amount of money to have a qualified chimney sweep come and clean the chimney from our woodburner.. rather than DIY, as I do value that expert eye that we are getting the burn right etc… and not building up tar in the flue.
Meanwhile in the garden I planted another two rows of cauliflowers and the brassica bed is now officially full. Cabbage white heaven I reckon.. we really must invest in some anti-butterfly netting… oh well another year of checking leaves for eggs and caterpillars. Now the brassica bed is full, all I have to do is work out where I am going to fit in the two different varieties of PSB, the second sowing of calabrese and the mustard…. never mind the non brassica plants..
