A certain amount of normality has returned, albeit with regular checks to Sharona and Rogan the new lamb, and to the two ewes not let lambed.  Still feel as though we are holding breath a little… and without knowing if there is any point.

Back to seed sowing, the experiment of sowing peas direct was a miserable failure.. seems the netting kept the birds off, so the peas were eaten by mice instead. back to module sowing there then. Also have beetroot going, beet spinach,  red cabbage, basil, lovage, dill, calabrese, gherkins, cabbage, cauliflowers and sprouts (first time on this), having another go at celeriac this year. Tomatoes and aubergines are on their way.

I noticed that the rocket I sowed last year was still there, having flowered, but I never got around to pulling them up.. they are definitely the same plants, bushier. I thought they were an annual.. oh well.  So picked some and pulled some radishes and got them as far as the house, an into a sandwich for lunch, which is a first.

So far the consuming of radishes has been by me, the only fan of them in the household, standing in the greenhouse.. the red bulbs.. all juicy and crunchy are irresistible…
