still stormy

blowing a hooley in fact. 

It started last night …blew hard, but nothing damaged this morning.

Then we had a weird lull complete with sunshine .. the eye of the storm the local weather man said.. and then the high winds returned, only moving from the South to the West now. It was sposed to be getting better by now,..but its getting worse.. and we have already received some of next door’s roof, the bit they repaired only the other week too..

The ridiculously tall leyandii trees by our outbuilding are careering around, and there is lots of debris. The hens stayed indoors, the sheep took to the field shelter, and I am grumpy cos have been indoors all day, apart from very muddy wet windblown dashes to check the animals.

A comfort food day, I cooked the cottage cheese griddles from the New Rayburn Cookbook.  Time to sit in front of the fire and knit methinks.
