Now finally there is some daylight at the end of the day to achieve some things in - yay!. After home ed things, I wander down and check the sheep, cut some ivy and spoil them, and worry about the lack of grass… it is growing.. but not fast enough yet . Later in the year we will have too much probably.. I dragged a new tub of lick down to them this evening, and they are now all sporting brown lips..
We no longer have to pick the PSB for tea by torchlight!. Tonight there was enough time after himself got home for us to dig a posthole, and set a gate post in it. We are extending a bit of the little field, to incorporate a bit of ground that isn’t being used, has grass on it!, and this will be the final part of our grazing plan. Once this last part is fenced, it will be possible to move the sheep around the three grazing areas in rotation, rather than having to revisit the last field again, useful when trying to keep parasites at bay.
These stolen daylight hours make all the difference at this time of year.
