yes I have the lurgy – I was fine then suddenly I was not – my temperature shot up, and even with a roaring fire, two blankies, a hot water bottle and a cat I was shivering away like mad. Himself said we did not need the fire lit as I was generating enough heat by myself! Did not feel like that on the inside I can tell you! Better today.. only feel grot and have to sit down alot between tasks.. which is an improvement on yesterday…
Home education can be hard on a day that you the parent are ill, but in fact we have such a routine going, that the hardest part was getting out of bed… then we launched into home ed programs, diary, worksheets, pc programs, and reading, with me gently groaning in the background. In fact I am sure less of a disruption than if your teacher goes off sick, and you have a supply who couldn’t care less.. and we have all faced that.
On the subject of heating, we had plumber in to look at the Rayburn.. seems a valve was stuck and heat was leaking to the radiators upstairs unasked. Now a new valve installed, and the Rayburn is hotter, the oven is hotter the water is hotter.. yay
but… now it’s colder upstairs… so perhaps we should not have messed with it….
